Origin Story

Spoil Jangl began in 2014 when a window dresser and a joiner teamed up after a shared client asked why her ceramic shop felt colder than her product. They named the studio after a Danish phrase for indulgent corner — a place worth detouring into.

Retail-Only Focus

We do not design homes or offices. Every staff member has worked shop floors during December rushes so proposals respect restocking realities, not just render aesthetics.

Inventory turnover rates appear on concept boards beside pretty sketches.

Concept Development Process

Week one maps customer pauses with stopwatch studies at existing locations. Week two converts those pauses into fixture heights and light angles.

Brand partners join at least one walk-through of a unrelated shop we admire to build shared vocabulary.

Sustainability in Small Spaces

Reusable prop libraries and rental plinths cut waste between seasonal resets. Timber comes from FSC-certified Danish suppliers when new build is unavoidable.

LED retrofits pay back quickly in narrow shops where old halogen cooked delicate textiles.

Studio Culture

Six designers share a ground-floor atelier on Store Kongensgade with a mock shop bay for full-scale tests. Friday mornings are open for brand owners to touch sample finishes under accurate colour rendering.
